Nothing compares to the familiarity and proximity of a personal visit to the institution you may one day refer to as your alma-mater. Campus visits can be your firsthand chance to witness all that a college has to offer in person. A brochure or orientation packet can only help you so much; a personal visit, on the other hand, can be much more enlightening and engaging. A campus visit can greatly help alter a prospective applicant’s mind and help assess the college in better light. Keeping the aforementioned in mind, our A level students were presented with the prospect to visit several colleges and study fairs/exhibits with the intention of enabling them to pick a college best suited to their profile.
Visiting Habib University was a one of kind experience for the A level students. Since many of them were yet to consider liberal arts a major of study, exploring Habib’s liberal arts course offerings really did help opening them up to the possibility of an education in the liberal arts. Habib University has managed to capture the soul of philosophers and academicians long gone with its contemporary setting and unique teaching methods. The ambiance and feel of this man made edifice that blends well with surrounding natural light and open and closed spaces reflects its core philosophy – Yohsin encompassing five major paradigms: striving for excellence; appreciating aesthetics (beauty); nurturing passion; respecting others; and serving the communities in which we reside.
The campus-tour commenced with a short presentation as well as an intro that helped students gain an insight into the institution, its philosophy, core programs and admission details. The students were then escorted to one magnificent space after the other comprising of gymnasiums, amphitheatres, expansive court yards, Habib’s very own “Urban Forest”, library, design & communication studios and student lounges.
The students were on many a instances encouraged to ask questions and were very well enlightened about HU’s simple admission process comprising of an entrance test, essay and meeting course prerequisites.
With one of the first of its kind, Habib is already is on its way to setting benchmark standards that are sure to draw in a lot of positive interest from students and educationists alike.
